Seattle retail shell building final scheme

ROOSEVELT GATEWAY, 2008
Seattle, Washington
Mark R. Blubaugh, Architect

The Roosevelt neighborhood plan called for emphasis on this corner to represent the west gateway to the Roosevelt neighborhood. This is a small project with a large role to fill, so all schemes include a tower element at the corner to give the building more of a presence. The final scheme included the small south building and vehicle access from the 8th Avenue NE (west) side of the property approach from Scheme A, the pedestrian breezeway concept from Scheme B, and the access route between buildings along the NE 65th (north) side of the property, although it is now a pedestrian only access, from Scheme C.
