The design includes canopies provide shading from the western sun to reduce cooling loads while the clerestories above allow natural light deep within the space, saving electricity. An assymetrical active leaf/fixed leaf arrangement on the entry door allows the owner to move large commercial laundry equipment in and out without dissassembling the entry.
