The design offers the appealing natural light from clerestory windows of traditional retail buildings with the latest mechanical, electrical, communications and fire protection technology. The clock tower helps this small building providea recognizable west entry to the Roosevelt District, without encroaching on Seattle City Light high voltage overhead power lines which would have required expensive relocation.
