Prarie Style Seattle residence second floor addition

GATCHEL RESIDENCE ADDITION, 1993
Seattle, Washington
Mark R. Blubaugh, design architect

The architectural design strengthens a weak Prairie Style theme in the existing house, using three part windows, square bay windows, hipped roofs, and reinforcing the horizontal theme even though the house is now one story higher. The left bay window gives a view of the Olympic Mountains from the soaking tub. The shower is concealed behind the glass block window.
